Since being called out on dogs like Emma (see below), Doggedly has decided to try a new tactic. Now they are changing the dog's names to hide their stories. (Ironically, though, still using photos from 2+ years ago for networking... which should tell you all you need to know.)
Cherry was an A Chance to Bloom dog, intake by Barb herself per volunteer reports in June 2019. They raised almost $2,000 on Cuddly alone for this dog. Doggedly took over the ACTB dogs in December 2019.
Finally, in May 2022, Cherry Pie is listed for adoption as "Cheerio". No mention of her previous bite history or the fact that she lived in a boarding facility with a tiny room and an outdoor dog run for 35 months.
Now she's apparently great with dogs, cats, and children. Leash and potty-trained. If that were the case, why was she not networked for adoption sooner?
As you can see Doggedly described Emma completely different in private to the other volunteers than in public on her adoption profile. Which one is the lie?
How does a dog go from "fear reactive/aggressive," to having a people oriented personality with no training or socialization other than sitting in a boarding facility that houses hundreds of dogs.
Fun fact - the bio Barb wrote contained a copy paste of a bio she wrote for her in March 2020. She also used the same networking photos she took 2 years ago. Why would a reputable rescue not have several updated photos of dogs they've had since December 2019?
Emma was with ACTB from December 2017 to December 2019 - Emma was with Doggedly from December 2019 to January 2022 (allegedly adopted but with no updates posted) - Emma lived the exact same way with ACTB and Doggedly, in boarding situations, but her bio claims her "first rescue" failed her. Doggedly failed her just as badly.
Withholding the truth and manipulation are common practices within Doggedly. Barbara’s lies don’t stop with volunteers, fosters and board members, they also extend to adopters and potential adopters.
Below you’ll find one adopter‘s less than desirable account with Doggedly and two of its members.
Barbara told Earl's adopters (now known as Ludo) he was found with an embedded collar, the truth was he sliced his neck open at her house.
